THE THREE ZAMBIAN WOMEN IN NORSELAND by HAMLET PART ONE THE JOURNEY . Grace Musonda was woken up by her alarm at 5AM on Monday 1st June 2020 at her home in Kitwe Zambia. She was feeling so overjoyed at the prospect of what lay ahead she had not been able to sleep all night. She would be flying to Norseland today for her three-year study at the Medical University of Silkeborg to qualify as a nurse and Health Worker in Zambia. She had obtained a bursary KMZ 460000(£20000) a year from the Norselandic Royal Aid Corps as well as university fees paid and fares paid, that she would have to repay over 30 years in Zambia once she qualified as a nurse. She had to move as quickly as possible as Astrid of the Norselandic Royal Aid Corps Officer would be arriving at her home in two hour's time at exactly 7 AM to take her to Lusaka Airport. Astrid would accompany her as well as her two friends Julie Mubanga and Lois Kaloto on their journey to Norseland She knew that Norselanders were obsessed with time as they were obsessed with cleanliness and that Astrid would not tolerate lateness at all The RAC or the Reginas Hjeplaakorps were heavily involved in Zambia. As part of Norselandic aid programme the RAC had just supervised the building of a brand new hospital in Kitwe Grace would share flat in Silkeborg with two other women Julie Mubanga and Lois Kaloto both of whom were now Policewomen. They were all school friends at Kasama Girls. School in the Northern Province. Julie and Lois were both tough at school and very good at sports especially Julie who was brilliant at netball and football, better than most boys. Julie and Lois were going to study Law Enforcement and Police Procedures at the University of Silkeborg in order to become honorary Norselandic Citizens and Black Scorpions. The Black Scorpions were an elite group of Black Women dedicated to the eradication of crime in the world along with the Norselandic Justice League The flight by British Airways was due to leave Lusaka at 2 pm to fly to London Gatwick Grace had also been told the total distance was 11 703 KMS or 7272 miles. the furthest she had ever travelled in her life. That was only half the journey as she would then board a plane from Gatwick to Stefansholm the capital city of Norseland. The flight would stopover in Nairobi.to refuel and take on passengers with a transit time of two hours. Altogether the flight time would be 15 hours so they would arrive in Gatwick at 3 AM the next day Grace would the have to face another gruelling flight from Gatwick to Stefansholm 12070 KMS 7500 miles by Norse Air one of the Norselandic national airlines Being a Norselandic airline it would also travel faster than British Airways. There would be a two-hour stopover in Denver which would be a total flight time of 14 1/2 hours and she would arrive in Stefansholm at 1.30 PM local time on Tuesday 2nd June. They would take 2 hours to clear Customs and Immigration. They would then catch a train with Astrid's supervision at 4 PM arriving at Silkeborg 500 KMS away at exactly 6.10 PM with Norseland's ultra-modern train service the most efficient in the world. With Astrid's precise timekeeping they would all be in their flat in Silkeborg at exactly 6.30 PM local time on Tuesday 2nd June Grace also longed to meet her to meet her Norselandic pen friend Stefan Dickson whom she has written to on Facebook. He lived in a community called Bedersted in Thisted Province He hoped to see her in by coming over and visiting her in Silkeborg. Grace leapt out of bed moving as fast as she was terrified of being late for Astrid. She rushed into the shower exposing her naked voluptuous Black body Her flat was actually quite small and was situated outside Kitwe in a small community called Garneton. She had remembered to pack properly the day before She had been told by Astrid that the climate in Silkeborg was similar to that in Kitwe The day temperature in Silkeborg was 28C (82F) which was close to Kitwe's temperature of 26C.She had therefore been told not to pack any sweaters or heavy clothing. She had also been told by Astrid that dress standards were very high in Norseland and that jeans and trainers were forbidden by law in public and that shorts were only permitted on the beach. Grace was always very smartly dressed as were most Zambians. She had been told that the national costume for women in Norseland was leather. To dress for the occasion, she put on a leather skirt, leather jacket and boots to look like a Norselandic woman or a Black Scorpion She then put on mascara and lipstick to complete the effect and looked in the mirror at her stunning appearance! She had time to eat a traditional Zambian breakfast that consisted of energy, building and protective foods, sweet potatoes(sandolo) or fritters taken with tea and a banana as well as bread with pumpkin jam She looked at her watch. It was exactly 7 AM. She looked outside and could see a smart new land rover outside with the logo beside; ROYAL AID CORPS REGINAS HJELPAAKORPS Astrid had arrived to drive her to Lusaka a distance of 360 KMS that would take just over 5 hours Astrid could not speak the language spoken in the Copperbelt Cibemba where Grace lived.
