I failed on this one; I'll come back some other time with ladysolly, she'll find it.
We spent quite a while hunting here, with no result.
We got to the location, and looked around; GPS all over the place. So we checked the hint, and I think that took us to the right place, but there was no sign of the cache.
We've scored a DNF on the What, we've scored a DNF on the Where, and now we've completed the set by scoring a DNF on the Who. I think this entitles me to claim a DNF on The Reveal.
Looked all over, read the hint, which is highly specific, and still didn't find the cache.
I tried to follow the bearing and distances. The trouble started at the 5-way junction. I could go somewhat north of west, or somewhat south of west. But not west. So I chose one of them, paced along the track, then back a bit, then sideways, then decided to try the other path off the junction. But that looked worse. So we went back to the one we first thought of, but after much fossicking about, didn't find, and then it got dark. Might try again some other day.
I was there at 7pm on a Friday. The graveyard was closed, and I didn't fancy trying to climb in.
After our previous DNF, I thought I'd have another go at it. All the same trees were there from my previous visit, and they still didn't show me a cache. So, another DNF for me.
Failure. We hunted quite hard for a while, but couldn't find the cache.
We couldn't find it either.
When we arrived here, there was a muggle doing a very slow dance. We ignored the crazy muggle, he ignored the crazy geocachers.
There's only one tree that fits the hint, and I think that's been severely trimmed around the base, and I suspect that the fresh wood chips that are strewn all over the ground around here, might include the cache.
We'll be there
I had a look at this one as we passed, not intending to actually do it. I think I saw it, but it's obvious where it is, and I'll return some time with some Special Equipment, of which one item will be a brick.
I really should have found this. I have seventeen excuses for why I didn't, which one would you like?
We first visited a few weeks ago. A walk around the churchyard easily gave us the next location, but when we visited there, we were stymied; I thought I knew where it would be, but A) didn't think I'd be able to get to there, and B) thought that in the unlikely event that I could get there, then I wouldn't be able to get back again.
Today, I returned with some Special Equipment, and also some Other Special Equipment. That let me get to where I wanted to be (and as it turned out, I didn't need the Other Special Equipment). After an extensive hunt, I decided that it wasn't there.
So I PAFed, and that told me that I was close, but not quite, and that I'd need some Different Special Equipment, which I didn't have with me.
I shall return ... again ... some time ...
I arrived at the scene of the crime at the dead of night, and searched diligently for a very long time. A PAF confirmed that I was in the right place, but I still couldn't find this cache. Maybe a more specific hint would help?
I spent over half an hour here, and decided that I could easily spend the rest of the day. My damaged fliegle made it even harder, and I decided to give up. So, no little torch :-)
Ew dehcraes rof a elihw, on kcul.
I failed on this one, partly because the GPS was roaming from 0 to 50 meters in the same place.
There's some work going on at the place I wanted to check, and it's fenced off. Maybe the cache isn't there, but since I couldn't get to the place I thought most likely, I decided to abandon this very quickly.
I obviously didn't dangle at the right angles.
We visited the first location, searched around, found a useful-looking spray can for doing graffiti, but nothing that looked like it would help with finding the cache.
The first of several DNFs today. I spent quite a while here, checking both sides, but eventually I decided that if I hadn't found it by now, I wasn't going to.
We approached this with optimism - we've had a lot of success lately with Rodz-caches, although they do tend to be difficult.
But our optimism was unfounded - after half an hour of searching in the dark, we gave up, because supper was calling. But at least I've sorted out a good place nearby to park, and we're planning to have another bash.
I failed again! I left a yellow tennis ball in the place that I thought the cache might have been. But now I look at the spoiler, I think I was close but no cigar!
I found a place that pretty much matched the hint, with a good hidey-hole, but no cache. I suspect it's gone.
We failed here, but hunger drove us on before we could spend a great deal of time here.
We found the location, identified the object mentioned in the hint, no sign of a cache, but a couple of out-of-place sticks where I'd guess the cache used to be.
Another failure.
We couldn't find the first micro.
I plan to be there, and I'll try to drag ladysolly along.
I walked round and collected all the data. Went to the final, and couldn't find, although I'm sure I looked in the right place. A nearby muggle told me that someone else had been by earlier today, looking in the same place. I'll email the cache owner with details.
I found Shaw's Corner. There's a cache I did a while back that starts from here. But I couldn't find the cache, it wasn't in the obvious place, and I couldn't see it elsewhere.
I biked to here as a diversion from the "Sign of the times" series, but although I spent quite a long time here, I failed.
While I was searching, a little (7 year old?) girl asked me what I was doing, so I told her I was on a treasure hunt. I was completely unprepared for her reply. "Can I help you?" Fortunately, at that point her mother caught up with her, so I didn't have to make a decision on the issue.
When I was young, I was told never to speak to strangers. I guess the world has become a safer place since then.
I thought the art was excellent, and the drizzle meant hardly any muggles. But I didn't find the cache, even though I used the recipe of August 11 and spent quite a long time searching, prodding with my stick.
At the gate, there was a FMD tape up, so we couldn't proceed any further. I'd suggest that this cache be disabled until the FMD issue is resolved.
I spent ages checking the place indicated in the hint (and a coupld of similar places) but came up blank.
We spent a long time here, but failed.
I solved the code, and went to get the cache today. I approached from Swinley Forest, but about half a kilometer from the cache, I encountered a "Foot and Mouth" tape across the track, telling me not to enter. So I didn't.
Maybe after the FMD alert is done. I don't know if it could be approached via another route, but I suspect not.
Jeff thouht he knew where this one was, so we went back there after out previous failure. But it wasn't there. However, we did discover that the Roehampton gate is open all night for pedestrians and cyclists, so at least we didn't have to came here from the Star and Garter!
I think we might do better in daylight.
I suspected that I was looking for a micro in a mountain of leaf litter; after 15 minutes, I gave up.
"Take care when replacing to prevent cache being lost down a big hole!"
I found the right tree, I think, because I found the big hole. But I couldn't see the cache, and I couldn't see much down the hole, even using my torch and mirror. I tried dropping something into the hole, and it didn't come out the bottom. I think if you lowered a small child into the hole, they'd be able to retreive it, but a small child isn't part of my standard caching kit.
So, I can't swear to it, but I think the big hole might have eaten the cache.
I suspect that I got clue two wrong; I biked to the location I'd calculated, and commenced the hunt. After about 15 minutes, I'd not only failed to find the cache, I also had lost track of where I'd left the Technobike. So I spent another 30 minutes hunting for the lost bike. Eventually, I found it, so this cache wasn't a complete failure. I'd had visions of phoning ladysolly to tell her that I'd decided to spend the night here, on a bed of dead ferns. I don't think she'd have approved.
Anyway, I found the bike, and pedalled off into the sunset. Maybe another day ...
Found Little Ben, use the hint to narrow it down, but didn't find the cache.
Again failed to find 4 or 5, again found a 35mm where I think 5 might hacve been, with paper inside that was totally ruined and unreadable.
I failed to find banana token 4. But I pressed on. For token 5, I found a 35mm, with an unreadable piece of paper inside; maybe that wasn't the banana token, but I couldn't find anything that was. So I didn't search for the final.
We hunted through this bush, we hunted through that, then ladysolly found a Tesco bag, and I was appointed to investigate it. Inside, I found a large round tub full of (I guess) small coloured stones, and a plastic leafy thing, and a dirty disposable nappy.
Last time I found one of those was in a tree in the middle of Oxford.
Not many people know this, but there's a group of people who hide used disposable nappies for other people to find, it's a game called "Geonappies". When you find the used nappy, you're supposed to make your mark on it (in the obvious way) and rehide it for the next player. If you're interested, visit the web site at http://www.geonappies.com. This is not to be confused with another group of people who play a similar game, but with dogs as the main creators of game peices.
As you can imagine, it's quite exciting to find a geonappies package when looking for a geocache, and in the excitement, we decided not to continue the search for this cache. But I did log the find on the Geonappies site.
Thanks anyway.
I found the tall green pointy thing, got the info, and we beetled off to get the cache. One hour later, we called off the search
It was night; we spent quite a while here, but failed to find.
One of the guys who interrogated us, gave me a card. They are "Parks Patrol", and their number is 07974 696931. I would seem that no-one in the Gunpowder Park authorities has told them about the caches, or that permission has been granted (Mark, who spoke to us, was certain that permission hadn't been given; we pointed out to him that maybe this was a failure of their internal communications). Maybe someone needs to get in touch with them, to ensure that the different parts of the organisation are in touch with each other. OK, it's not our place to facilitiate their internal communications, but it could save cachers some hassle in future.
We arrived at Gunpowder park, and parked just outside the gates, because the car park is locked up at 7:30, and we were expecting to be later.
This was the first one we attempted; as we walked towards it, there was a man acting quite suspiciously. I guessed he was a cacher, and asked him ... he was. So we joined forces to look for this.
After 15 minutes, SimplyPaul and I decided that we'd abandon this, and bike round the rest of the park while there was still some light, and we could do this one equally well in pitch dark, with torches. So we said goodbye to the cacher (whose name I forget), and set off round the park.
A few hours later, when we got back to the car, we found a couple of official-looking vehicles around the car, several official-looking uniformed men (not police, but dressed so as to suggest that they were some sort of almost-police) and a cacher - the one we'd seen before.
And we were asked if we were geocachers (yes, we are) and did we have written permission (we don't need it, we're searching, not placing) and so on and so on. I've sent the cache setter a detailed email on this.
In the light of all this, it was a no-brainer to decide not to do a further search for this cache, at this time.
We decided not to even try this one, on account of there being three DNFs despite a very specific hint, and te opinion of the last cachers that it's been muggled.
I collected the info from the twelve places, did the sums, got a plausible location, but couldn't find the cache in the gathering dusk.
Maybe it's because it's post-Christmas, but this area is really horrible - empties, broken glass, all sorts of rubbish. I didn't enjoy being there, so I stopped searching quite quickly.
Out today on the technobike.
I had a look, didn't see the container, and it looked like it might involve climbing, which I don't like to do when I'm out on my own, so I decided to give this one a miss.
Everyone finds this one easy, except me, I find it impossible. This is my second visit here, and my second failure after spending an hour here. Obviously this cache is transparent at the wavelength my eyes work at.
I can mention, however, that if you go here via the footpath that comes from the South, you can bike all the way.
After a long time searching, including the use of the hint, I was unable to find this one.
I was doing the nearby series, so I gave this one a quick look, but it was might, it was freezing, I was on my own, and I decided that although I'm willing to get wet all over in trying to get a cache, I'm not willing to get wet all over in freezing water alone at night, so I bottled out.
SimplyPaul and I hunted for a while, but even with the hint we didn't find it.
The sign board is also the meeting place for a small youth club, who admired the technobike, admired the GPS and wanted to know what I was doing. So I explained to them about geocaching. They didn't offer me a drink of their whiskey.
Searching for the cache wasn't really feasible under all this scrutiny, so I gave it a miss.
My GPS took me to the right place; the hint confirmed that I was in the right place, and the spoiler picture did the same. nevertheless, I didn't find the cache.
Out today on the technobike.
An insalubrious area, lots of rubbish strewn around. It was when I found myself checking the rubbish in case one of the pieces was a cache hide that I decided to give this a miss. As I moved on, I passed a burned-out motorbike.
We had no luck here
A return visit. I only spent ten minutes here, and failed to find again.
We were OK up till the tall natural object, but then taking the amount of steps away from it - we know how many, but not which direction, and there's 360 degrees in a circle.
I came, I saw, I decided not to attempt.
I spent a while failing on this one.
I spent ages searching for this one, without success
I shall return!
I managed to get to GZ, eventually, but after hunting for a long time, I had to give up.
We made a major meal out of finding the data, due to not reading the cache page properly. Then on to the cache, which we failed to find after a detailed search.
A micro in a mini-jungle, and a hint that fitted too many places. After searching for several minutes, I gave up.
I was only able to spend a few minutes here before my allergy to ivy kicked in. So, regretfully, I was unable to find it.
I spent ages looking for this one. Then I logged in to GC.com, and found that Currykev had found it only yesterday, so I searched some more. No good.
Now I see I'm one of three to DNF it today, so maybe it isn't there?
Hunted for quite a while, but failed.
The GPS was all over the place, and we didn't find the hint helpful enough, so we failed.
Despite all the DNFs, I thought I'd have a go. When I got to GZ, I could see an infinity of possible hides. I had a look around, then read the cache page more thoroughly. And I noticed "its still hanging there". Hmm, hanging.
So, close to the fence, I suddenly noticed some green twine, leading to the other side. "Aha", I thought, "gotcha". So I pulled the string, and it moved a little bit. So I gave it a stronger pull, and I could feel it move a bit more. So I gave it a great yank, and found myself holding a rose bush, via the string.
Actually, the last bit isn't true; I bottled out of pulling it that hard. Instead, I gave up.
I hunted for quite a while, but came up without.
Another failure :-(
After a long and difficult slog down the towpath, I got to GZ. Since I'd gone to so much effort to get here, I was determined to find it. But determination is of no avail against a heavily hidden cache, and I failed on this one. I did find a place that matched the hint quite well, but no cache there.
Brambles and nettles 1, drsolly 0.
The camouflage has been cut back almost completely, but I was unable to find this cache after a lengthy search.
I found the location as described in the hint, but despite a lengthy search, could not find the cache.
PUzzle was solved a while ago. Today, I went out and despite a long time searching, didn't find it.
I'm not actually sure whether I found it or not.
I googled the hint, which then became clear. At the location, I chained the technobike to a handy railing, and after a bit of a hunt, I found an empty container such as is often used for caches. Optimistically, I put a new temporary log in the container and signed it, but I'd like some guidance about whether I actually found the cache.
A poor start to a day's outing with SimplyPaul. We hunted hard, but failed to find.
[This entry was edited by drsolly on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 12:39:50 PM.]
There was a mugglette with her back to a tree, facing where the cache was. She was smoking a cigarette (there's still a few) and engaged in a lengthy phone converstaion on her mobile. So she had her beady eye on me, and wasn't likely to leave soon. So I had to abandon this one without a search.
I spent some time here (I didn't know it had been disabled). I did find a 4.5 liter tub with a green top, in the right place, but it was empty, and probably wasn't the cache container. Eventually, I gave up.
I'm confused.
I gathered the data, then went to the final location, temporary version. I looked as per the hint, but after pulling several prickles out of my hand, I checked the cache page again. The thing it, the towpath is in fine fettle again, so I wondered, maybe the cache is back in the original place? So I worked out the coords for the original place, and although the formula is different, the coords come out the same. Which I found more confusing.
So I made the assumption that the cache is back in the old place, but I couldn't see it there either. So I went back to the temporary version place, and got some more prickles in my hands.
And then I pulled out the prickles with tweezers, and abandoned this cache. I'll try again some other time.
We couldn't find it either
Yes, very squelchy!
But when I was getting close to this one, I was hailed by a man, and we had a chat.
He was quite friendly about it, but he explained that these are private woods, and there's no right of way through them. I think he's right, my OS map doesn't show any right of way here, and I can't see any way to the cache that doesn't go over private land. So I apologised, and returned to the car.
The enclosure (he told me) is a pheasant pen, the CD Roms are to scare off foxes and owls.
Given the above, I won't be returning to have another go at this.
The river is very high today, and I think it might have even been slightly higher than the base of the cache. Hence a DNF; I couldn't get to where I think the cache is, and it's even possible that it might have floated away?
This is my fourth visit. And I think I know exactly where it should be. But ...
This cache has become my Bete Noir.
Armed with a hint from the cache setter ... we failed again.
My second visit here, my second failure.
I looked in the obvious place, and then another obvious place, and then a few more obvious places, and couldn't find this.
My heart leapt when I found a good quality left hand glove - I thought that was it. But I didn't find anything inside it. If someone lst a good glove, this is where it is.
We spent a long time searching for this, fruitlessly, including the use of torches. I guess we aren't proper cachers!
I spent about an hour here, determined to find this cache, but ultimately failed. This was my second of the series, and it lowered my morale ... are there going to be many like this?
Then I remembered Simply Paul had gone round here a couple of weeks ago, and got 4 DNFs. Uh-oh.
We're not great fans of this sort of hide, so after spending a while here without any luck, we left.
I solved the puzzle more easily than I expected, but when we went out today to find the box, we hunted for a long time but came up empty-handed.
We found the hide, we found the parallel pile of sticks that looked like it might have been the stickoflage, but underneath, despite a lot of digging, we found no cache. I think this one's been taken away.
I failed completely here. And as I was going about to try different places, I missed my footing and went horizontal. No damage done except to my dignity, and no-one saw me fall, so if you don't tell enayone, I won't either.
Huge amounts of head high wet ferns plus a few brambles made this especially bad; my trousers were saturated, and after getting soaked, we gave up. This will be better after the ferns die down and when the weather is dry.
We both dived right in and spent a long time here.
Paul found a robin, sitting still on her nest, hoping we wouldn't see her.
I found a white enamel dish, which for a moment I thought was the cache.
We found a large black thing, which we think might have been the hint object
We found lots of bottles, and some broken glass, a broken watering can, and some corrugated iron.
But after a long time crawling around inside, we decided to give up on this one - we still had a long way to go to get back to the car.
I spent quite a long time here, and couldn't find it.
I couldn't find the thing mentioned in the hint, nor could I find the cache.
Whereas I didn't find it, probably because I wasn't expecting to find it.
Another failure
Another failure
After thrashing around in this jungle for far too long, we decided to leave this for some other time.
I wandered around poking and prodding eeverything I could see, but couldn't find the cache.
Well, I didn't find it easy. A micro in a place with a million hiding places. I gave it a quarter of an hour, then went home.
I checked out the traffic island, and didn't find it there. While left the railings, etc, of the private houses, and I very soon felt eyes eyeing me suspiciously, so I made my excuses and left.
We had a quick look at this one, but when I realised it was members-only, we abandoned it; Paul isn't a member.
First of all, we went to completely the wrong place to park - the parking coords given on the cache page are wrong. A good place to park - go to N 51° 24.090 W 001° 16.412 to find the road in, then park at N 51° 23.850 W 001° 16.628
We parked a bit north of that, so had a somewhat longer walk.
When we got to the cache location, another family was just coming out, having given up. I entered the area brimming with confidence that our superior caching skills would turn up trumps.
As time went by, I became increasingly humble.
Then another cacher turned up on his bike, and we all hunted together. I can tell you, there's a lot of places that match the hint, and the whole area certainly deserves the title of "jungle". Ladysolly did her back in while wriggling around under fallen trees, and I got nettled on the chin (almost everywhere else was armoured).
After an hour and a half, we gave up, and went back to the car, our metaphorical tails between our collective legs.
Sigh.
I think the reason I didn't find it, was that I wasn't willing to go to the place suggested by the hint.
I'm sad to say, this one eluded me. And after I'd spent some time there, and been barked at by several dogs who knew I was up to no good, I decided to leave it and do something else.
We spent quite a while searching, without luck. But I think it's clear where the cache should have been, from the hint and the previous logs, and I think it isn't there. The previous logs saying that the cache had been visible until the cacher hid it, doesn't bode well.
Found six rabbits, but the cache eluded us.
I so wanted to get the first Random Bench, but it was not to be.
We hunted, failed, PAFed, and then it started to pour with rain, so we gave up.
I spent an hour here, without success; the vegetation is so lush and covering, I think it'll be better done in winter.
We waited till the man from Rentokil finished putting out the rat poison, then moved in despite many occasional muggles. After an extensive search, we decided that we were defeated by this cache.
I went round and gathered the numbers. DE wasn't easy, but I eventually found two places where I could get the data.
Then I went to the final, but couldn't find it. I'll email the cache owner.
I spent a fair while here, but couldn't find it.
I spent about half an hour here, but had to give up.
In view of all the DNFs, I wasn't expecting to find this one ... and I didn't.
The hint is very specific, and there's an ideal place for a cache, but it wasn't there, or anywhere else I could see.
This one is supposed to be very easy, and very exposed. But I couldn't find it, and I wonder if it got over-exposed?
I found the thing referred to in the hint, but I still couldn't find the cache
I got very excited when I found a loose bolt that I could pull out, but I don't think that was the cache. Eventually, the attracton of hot coffee in the car overcame the will the cache on this frozen evening, and I retired gracefully.
I feel I should have found this. Unfortunately, the cache felt otherwise.
I spent about 15 minutes in the bitter cold today. I think I understood the hint, but still didn't spot the cache.
As I was rummaging about in the area indicated by the hint, the rabbi came in and entered the church. He didn't ask me what I was up to. Then a few minutes later, he came out again. This time I was all ready for a question "What are you looking for?" "I'm looking for God."
Unfortunately, he didn't ask the question.
And I decided not to stay any longer.
I couldn't find it either.
On my way to the cache, I passed two grass snakes, about three feet long, each one!
Getting to GZ was a major pain - there's no public footpath, and I went around the edge of a field, but it was very overgrown. Maybe there's an easier way I didn't spot?
At GZ, I hunted for about 30 minutes, including using the hint, which I think I understood, but to no avail.
I spent a while here, and totally failed.
I didn't have my telescopic ladder with me
Another bash at this, another failure.
I was going well, but couldn't find the final - ran out of time.
So many possibilities. I checked a bunch of them, but then gave up.
The "Where would I put this?" method failed for me.
We spent a while here, but came up empty, despite using the hint, and reading several past logs.
It was 5pm, and full daylight, and the park was locked.
We failed again.
This one was tough as a night cache. Too tough for me.
Our third failure of the day
This'll be a piece of cake, I thought. But ...
After the previous two expert cachers DNFed, I didn't have much hope for this one. Sure enough, we couldn't find any of the elements in the hint, so we gave up quite quickly.
It wasn't in the obvious place, and I couldn't see it on the ground near there. But at that point, my dislike of searching wet ivy kicked in, and I retired gracefully.
Failed to find this, and ran out of time.
I found the "Geocaching" sticked, and a place where the cache might have been, but no cache.
I could trot out several excuses, but the simple fact is, I just couldn't find it.
We walked to GZ, and I had a look at the tree. Although I had my climbing rope with me, I decided against attempting this one.
It was night. I went roundone tree three times, then I went round another tree twice, then back to the first tree, and as I was searching, I found a mouse, about four feet off the ground, nibbling something in the glare of my torch, and at that point I decided to leave this one.
I wandered around for about half an hour, without any luck, but I did find a penny near the payment machines, so the time wasn't entirely wasted.
I moved enough leaves to fill the Albert Hall, searched in every crevice and crack, and still came up blank.
While I was inside, with ladysolly back on the path, I could hear her getting increasingly vexed; at the point when I could hear the onset of conniptions, I had to break off the search, and return to demonstrate to her that I was still alive. So, no find.
This should have been easy - but I failed.
Night time, and I couldn't find it.
Night time - I found the house mentioned in the hint, but couldn't find the cache.
I was quite disappointed, after finding all the Park and Hides, to fail on the bonus.
When we got to the location, the relevance of the title was immediately obvious.
I found a couple of party poppers near where I think the cache should have been, but not the cache, and I fear the worst for this one.
I spent a while here, but without success. The fact that it was night time probably didn't help.
It was dark and raining, and I didn't find the cache.
Surely this should be a "mystery" cache, since it isn't actually at the given coords? Anyway, we had somewhat of a search, but the cold made us leave after several minutes.
We spent a while here, but failed to find it. But I did find a birds nest containing three small blue eggs in the tree next to the tree with the sign. I hope the fact that I groped the nest won't cause the birds to abandon their eggs.
We couldn't find it either, despite spending a half hour here.
I couldn't find it either. I suspect it's swum away to freedom.
Maybe I shouldn't have tried to do this in the dark, with my hands getting colder and colder as the made contact with the cold iron, until I decided that I'd run out 9of time.
I was here in August and DNFed, because it wasn't there. I was in the area today, so I had another go ... and DNFed again.
Even with a PAF telling me exactly where to look, I couldn't find this.
I felt I should have found this, but after grovelling around for ages, I gave up.
Aaargh!!!
I had the old coordinates, downloaded yesterday, and that tried to take me to a private place, so I gave up.
Grrrrrrr.....
Night plus lush vegetation plus much nettleness = no find.
I scrambled up, didn't find it, and scrambled down. Then I scrambled up somewhere else, didn't find it, and scrambled down. Then I scrambled up somewhere else, didn't find it, and scrambled down. Then I scrambled up somewhere else, didn't find it, and scrambled down.
Then I gave up, because I couldn't think of anywhere else to look.
A very specific hint, but I couldn't find the cache.
It wasn't in the place suggested by the hint.
I also found what looked like the right location, but no cache.
Another failure
At GZ, a very distinct cacher's trail, a place that matched the hint, and good hole for a cache ... but nothing there.
Ladysolly is convinced it's there somewhere, but we didn't find it, even though we spent a long time here.
I tried to enter the pier via the amusments, but it was closed.
I searched for a while, then read the hint. Then I swore a mighty oath, and searched some more. Then I read the logs "Easy find" "quick find", swore some more, and hunted some more. Eventually, after half an hour, I gave up.
At this time of year, it closes at 4pm, half an hour before I got there.
Did I find it? I'm not sure.
I found a tupperware box, but with a red lid (not green as per cache page), out in the open looking muggled. I found nothing in the place where the cache should have been.
On the lid of the box, I could just make out some writing, and it looked like the sort of writing that many people put on the lids of caches.
I cleared the rubbish out of the box, hid it in the place hinted with a temporary log book.
I think this needs looking at.
