Wonder Woman: The Challenge Inspired by: https://rustedpeaces.deviantart.com/art/Wonder-Woman-defeated-by-the-New-Wonde r-Woman-674027073 Alternate storyline This event takes place directly after Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice Having recovered the photo made during the great war Diana Princess of the Amazons finally returned back to. Themyscira However a lot had changed while she had been gone. Several of the Amazons had begun questioning Diana's decision to travel the world instead of staying at home defending Themyscira. The bracelets, the tiara and the lasso were meant to stay on the island and if Diana would not agree with that they wanted someone else to take on the mantle of Wonder Woman. Diana had tried to convince them otherwise in a public debate and had nearly been successful. However one Amazon in particular was eager to challenge her position and kept opposing her in the debate. Her name was Aela and she was a slender but athletic redhead with an arrogant look on her face. Despite her young appearance she spoke confidently and with authority and Diana had been unable to convince her. Diana felt that Aela seemed like the ringleader of the Amazons angry with her decisions. Aela proved herself highly skilled in the art of rhetoric and somehow knew that Diana had been quite close to Mayor Steve Trevor and now Bruce Wayne. She subtly suggested that Diana might feel attracted to these ... friends of her and that she was no longer fit to protect the island when her heart was elsewhere. Diana argued with her in the debate but Aela matched each of her arguments and at one point started to mention how her time in the outside world might have weakened her judgement and that she was no longer the warrior she was supposed to be. Diana replied that this was absolute nonsense and that she had seen more battle then any of the other Amazons. Aela demanded proof and slowly the other Amazons began to look forward to see a duel between Diana and Aela. With neither of them unable to win the debate it was decided they should settle this in a duel. Diana was unimpressed by her smaller opponent. She had been trained by the late Anliope and was able to best any of the Amazons. Diana did not knew a lot about Aela but the redhead looked confident and eager to prove herself against Wonder Woman. It was agreed that if Aela would defeat Diana she would have proven Diana was no longer fit to act as Wonder Woman and Aela would be granted the lasso and act as Themyscira. As Diana prepared for the match one of the Amazons came to her with a concerned look on her face. "What is it Venelia?" Diana asked the blond warrioress. "You do not know Aela Diana. She has looked up to you her entire life. However it now almost seems like she thinks she is superior to you." "I know and I will show her she is wrong." "She has trained obsessively in Pankration while you were away. Better watch yourself." Venelia spoke with concern in her voice. The duel was going to take place in the Arena. All the Amazons had gathered to watch this fight. Most of them expected Diana would easily show the youngster why she was the Amazon's finest warrior. However a small group was actively cheering for Aela. Aela was already waiting in the arena when Diana entered. "I always admired you Diana. And I am sorry I will have to give you this humiliating defeat in front of our sisters. However I know that it will be better when I will be Wonder Woman." Aela spoke calmly but with an arrogant smile on her face. Diana looked at her with some dismay. "You talk about matters you can not even imagine. If you had seen what I had seen you would not think so lightly of taking the position of Wonder Woman." Aela now smiled almost mockingly at Diana. "Well, only one way to find out right." Both women realized the time for talking was over and slowly circled each other cautiously. Young and eager Aela attacked first. She moved forward and performed a quick stomp kick aimed at Diana's knee, intending to knock her off balance. In a fluid motion Diana avoided the kick from the youngster and stepped to the side to gain a dominant angle on her. Aela tried to follow up with a knifehand to the side of Diana's neck. Diana blocked the strike on her forearm and countered with a thudding punch to Aela's midsection, causing the youngster to grunt in pain. Diana instantly followed up by wrapping her arms around the slender waist of her opponent and performed a hard suplex that slammed Aela in the sand. As Aela tried to get up Diana quickly moved behind her and wrapped her legs around her waist to keep her in place. The crowd cheered loudly as Diana seemed in complete control of this fight. Swiftly Diana tried to secure a sleeperhold around the neck of the struggling challenger. However Aela was able to defend it and suddenly spun out of it and ended up on top between Diana's legs. "I know that you are supposed to be a master at submission wrestling. However I trained plenty of grappling as well during your absence." Aela said with a mean smile on her face. Diana tried to wrap her legs around Aela's waist trying to hold her in place and control her. However Aela landed several hard punches into Diana's stomach that made her gasp for air. Aela drove the tip of her elbow against the inner thigh of Diana, making her wince in pain as she was forced to open her legs to relieve the pain. In a swift motion Aela hopped over her legs and after a short struggle she managed to trap Diana in a cross-body pin. Aela immobilized Diana's right arm by scissoring it between her strong thighs and at the same time pressed the side of her hip hard against her chin. With her left arm she was able to pin Diana's arm to the sand and with her right arm she began to send short but annoying punches to Diana's stomach. Wonder Woman groaned under the barage, bridging up and twisting back and forth in frantic attempts to escape the pin of her opponent. "Still think you are so much better than everybody else Princess?" Aela laughed mockingly. As Diana tried to use her left arm to cover her stomach Aela swiftly trapped her arm in a keylock hold. She moved her left leg over Diana's head and was now basically sitting on the Wonder Woman's face. With both arms she began to wrench Diana's arm in a painfull shoulderlock. The crowd watched in disbelief as it looked like Diana's arm was about to get dislocated. All seemed lost for Diana at this point. However using all her strength Diana bucked her hips up and with an explosive twist she was able to slither from underneath Aela. Wonder Woman managed to get on top of Aela and pinned her down in a cross body pin. Aela grunted in effort as she tried to escape but Wonder Woman kept her control and methodically tried to isolate her arm for a joint lock. Realizing her arm was under attack Aela suddenly spun towards Diana and attempted to get to her elbows and knees. Diana had waited for this. In a fluid motion she wrapped her right arm around Aela's neck, trapping it under her armpit. She then fell to her back placing her right shin against Aela's stomach and her left leg over her back. Trapping Aela's body in place. Arching her back Diana was applying enormous pressure on Aela's neck. The youngster was gurgling and gagging but somehow she was able to perform a swift front roll and managed to slip out of the stranglehold of Wonder Woman. They struggled but Aela was able to end up on top and began to punch down at Diana. Diana was able to get her legs around Aela's waist and trap her in a closed guard. However the youngster managed to land a few hard punches to Diana's stomach that made her gasp for air. As Diana tried to get control of Aela and pull her in tight the lithe youngster performed a headbut, striking her forehead against Diana's chin. "Ghhhh!" Diana let out. As she raised her arms in an attempt to protect herself from the youngster's punches. Aela grinned and much like earlier she drove the tip of her elbow to her inner thigh to force her legs open. However in a sudden motion Diana reacted by spinning to her side and getting the youngster off balance. Diana then swung her legs over and was able to isolate Aela's arm in a classic armbar. Aela tried to pull free but Diana rolled her towards her back. In a fluid motion she trapped her upper arm between her thighs and fell backwards, pulling the wrist to apply an armbar. Aela winced as Wonder Woman was hyperextending her elbow. The crowd watched on as the fight seemed to have ended it's conclusion and Aela was forced to surrender. However instead of tapping the ground and signaling her surrender she used her amazing flexibility to somehow spin out of the armbar. The two women scrambled for position but Aela was able to slither behind Wonder Woman. Sliding her arms underneath Diana's armpits and cupping her hands behind Diana's head she sought to apply a full nelson. Diana's head was forced to her chest and to make matters worse Aela rolled her to her stomach and forced her face first in the sand. "You will lose Diana." Aela said mockingly. However with a explosive motion Diana was able to roll them both over and pried herself free from the full nelson. Aela tried to climb on top of Diana but the Wonder Woman intercepted her with a sharp kick to her chest that launched the youngster backwards. Both women got back to their feet and exchanged some punches. Aela swung a roundkick at Diana's head but she blocked it on her forearms and replied with a swift elbow strike that nailed Aela right on the chin. Aela shook her head and replied with a punch of her own which was easily parried by Diana. Diana now started to take the offensive, driving Aela backwards with a flury of strikes. As Aela was dazed Diana leapt knee first against her chest and knocked her backwards into the sand. However Aela managed to use the momentum of her fall to roll back and get to her feet. As Diana advanced with a snapping kick at her stomach Aela blocked it and countered by hitting Diana against the throat with the web between her thumb and index finger. As Diana coughed and wheezed from the throat strike Aela hooked her right leg behind hers and pushing against her throat she threw Diana flat on her back in the sand. Aela looked down at the fallen Amazon Princess and decided to finish her off. She raised her extended leg towards her head and then swung it down, aiming her heel right for Diana's face. If the kick had connected it surely would have finished Diana. However Diana rolled slightly to the side and Aela's heel slammed into the sand. In a swift motion Diana wrapped her legs around Aela's and was able to rock her off balance and make her tumble to the sand. Wonder Woman immediately pounced on her and connected a hard punch against her face. She attempted to straddle Aela's waist but the youngster was able to wrap her legs around Diana's right thigh and was able to wrap her arms around Diana's trim waist to keep her tightly against her, not giving her the space to punch down. Diana tried to get her leg free to get to a mounted position. However the youngster bucked hard and attempted to roll Diana over. As Diana braced herself Aela used a slick move to spin underneath Diana and ended up behind her. Diana tried to get back to her feet but Aela was behind her and had wrapped her arm around Diana's waist. Driving forward she used this bodylock to force Diana towards all fours, making her end up on her knees with her hands posted in the sand. Sliding her arm underneath Diana's right arm in a half nelson Aela rolled her over and forced her on her back in the sand. Diana tried to escape but Aela was able to catch her in a cross body pin, her body stretched across Diana's shoulders as the Wonder Woman was helpless on her back. Both combatants were breathing hard at this point, and although it looked like Aela could have kept my Diana pinned all day, it was clear she had something else in mind. She rotated her upper body down towards Diana's stomach and reached out with her legs, trying to catch my Diana's head in a reverse scissorhold. Diana saw the danger though, and desperately threw one arm up to try and block the move. It wasn't enough though, and Aela was able, after a few tries, to snake her leg around the arm and wrap her mighty legs around Wonder Woman's head. "No!" screamed Diana, as soon as she realized what had happened. Aela reached back and grabbed Diana's head by her hair, yanking it high up in her powerful thighs. It was just a formality at this point as Aela tensed her mighty thighs and hamstrings, the spectators could see the muscles in her butt tighten as she exerted immense pressure on Diana's head. Diana tried to struggle free but Aela seized her wrists and pinned them to the floor. Wonder Woman grunted as the world seemed to fade black and the pressure on her neck and head kept increasing. "Ghhhhhhh!" Wonder Woman blinked her eyes as she was not sure what had happened. She was lying on her back in the sand of the arena. The crowd was cheering loudly. The memories flooded back again. The challenge, the fight and that extremely tight headscissor. As she looked up she saw Aela standing there proudly. One hand was on her hip and in the other hand she was holding ... . The lasso of truth. On her head she was wearing Diana's tiara. With a smile of disdain she looked down at the confused Diana. One of the Amazons was standing in the arena addressing the crowd. "Diana of Themiscyra is no longer Wonder Woman. The New Wonder Woman is Aela of Themiscyra." As the crowd cheered loudly Diana felt tears appear in her eyes.
