My Kind of Women By Littlesilverstar, silverstar222b@yahoo.com A brief guide to the kinds of women in my stories Well, now that I've written about 25 stories for this site and have my own section, I think it's time that I wrote something like this. This guide will explain why I write what I write, and give a little more background on some of my favorite characters and stories. It all started when I saw a muscular little blonde in business attire on the subway. I got to wondering about what her life was like and thought, "Wouldn't it be great if she was one of those people who kicked ass, took names, and enjoyed doing it?" Out of the blue, I decided to write a story with a heroine that was inspired by her, and with that, my first protagonist, Christina, was born. When the story was finished, I posted it on this website, accompanied by an email address and an invitation for feedback. I got several responses, some good, some not so good. I was happy that people had read and (in some cases, at least) enjoyed my work, and was encouraged to write more stories. I came up with new characters and plots, often inspired by people or events from real life. It's hard to believe that it's been 25 stories now, although I know that's a small number compared to some of the other writers here. There are some qualities that I wanted to keep in all my stories. First of all, I wanted them to deal with realistic, everyday situations - with one exception, all my plots could, theoretically, happen in real life. Some people like stories about aliens or growth serums or other stuff like that, and that's fine, but those things never held an interest for me. I also wanted the stories to be believable - that is, a petite woman can defeat a much larger male in a fight because she has martial arts training, is fitter, etc. The women in my stories tend to be average-sized and attractive, with muscular but feminine bodies. They are not bodybuilders. However, I like the women to have tomboyish personalities - the kind of woman who would logically get into combat sports and not shy away from fights. I try to keep my stories from being dominated by sexual scenes. There is a certain amout of sexuality in my plots, but I like to keep it PG-13 or, at the most, R-rated instead of NC-17. Again, some people like those kinds of things, and that's fine, but I never had much interest in being a pornographic writer. Although I have a few villainess characters, most of the women I write are heroines who kick ass in the name of justice. I like to see the good guys (and girls) win. As for the fights themselves, I prefer writing male vs. female fights. However, I have written a fair number of female vs. female ones. Finally, I've always had a thing for women who could do gymnastic stunts like handsprings, cartwheels, and back flips. I give my female characters gymnastic abilities which they put to good use in their fights. That about takes care of the general stuff; now here's some more detailed information about some of my favorite characters and the stories they appear in. The heroines I like the most tend to appear in multiple stories. Christina: The one that started it all. She was inspired by the woman I saw on the subway. Christina is a businesswoman, ambitious but honest. She is petite (5'3" and 120 pounds), has long blonde hair, and is in her late twenties. Her fight opponents tend to be corrupt business people and the henchmen they hire. She is in a serious relationship with a man named Paul. She's stronger than him and enjoys being in the role of the protector. Christina appears in Corporate Warrior and Return of the Corporate Warrior. Sara and Melanie: Sara Ramos and Melanie O'Connor are incredibly fun characters to write. They are an odd couple of best friends, Sara a police detective and Melanie a former professional assassin. Despite their seemingly different backgrounds, they have a lot in common - both women want to see evil punished, and they both enjoy handing out the punishments personally. Sara and Melanie are both in their mid-thirties. Sara is a Latina with dark brown hair and olive skin, while Melanie is a tall, slender blonde. Although their adventures are frequently very violent, these two lovely ladies manage to have lighthearted, fun-loving, outgoing personalities. They have great interactions between them and each woman's skills and resources combine to make them a formidable team. One or both of these characters appear in Assassin by Night, Murder Mystery Cruise, Melanie's Dark Secret, The Will, and The Last Kiss Goodnight. Alexandra: Alex is one of my younger characters, at 18 years old. She is a high school and, later, college student. She has long dark brown hair and is 5'6" and 128 pounds. Her mother was murdered when Alex was 13, and her strong personality and never-give-up spirit helped her get through the tough times. In her first appearance, she gets revenge on her mother's killer. Her second story finds her fighting a sexual predator. Alex appears in Close to Home and Attack on Interstate 8. Monica: Another one of my favorite characters - in fact, I'd say that she's one of my three favorites, along with Sara and Melanie. This character was inspired by one of my real-life college professors, whose name was Monica too. The character Monica is a 33-year-old professor of history. She has shoulder length brown hair and is 5'6" and 140 pounds. She is one of my most muscular women, although she'd still fall more into the fitness model category than into the bodybuilder category. Monica's opponents include local toughs hired by a disgruntled student, and bank robbers who attempt to take her and her class hostage. She is not your stereotypical professor - she'd be just as capable in the real world as she is on a university campus. Also, she's not afraid to take the lives of evil people, and she knows her way around firearms. Monica appears in Friday's Final Lesson, Primary Source, and Dog Jay Afternoon. Kara, Susan, and Shamira: These three ladies make up an elite team of female commandos (commandas?) They are nicknamed the 'International Raiders' because Kara is American, Susan is British, and Shamira is Israeli. They have fought Islamic terrorists and Colombian drug cartels. Their adventures are some of the most violent and dangerous of all, but the women still manage to get every job done efficiently and look sexy while doing it. Kara, Susan, and Shamira appear in The International Raiders and International Raiders 2: Colombia. Other characters, stories, and notes of interest: I enjoy writing female soldiers - Jill from Prisoner of War and Danica from Survivor: Philippines are two examples. Modern Warrior Princess also stars some women soldiers, along with a strong princess in a tiny European monarchy. I also like to have ordinary civilian women fighting off terrorists, such as the sexy flight attendants in Skyjacking. Softball Girls and Food Fight showcase teenage girls who kick ass. I like young women who are mature and strong enough to defeat older and bigger men and women. Beach Day was something new - it was my first story written in the first person. The plot involves a young man who encounters a beautiful bikini girl at the beach, and the ass-kicking that ensues. Well, I hope you enjoyed reading this and I hope you enjoyed my stories. If you haven't read my stories yet, or haven't read all of them, they can be found on this website under my name (Littlesilverstar)'s stories. (A few of them may still be in the Miscellaneous stories section, parts 20 through 23). Feel free to drop me a line at silverstar222b@yahoo.com if you have any questions or comments.
